Care for Your Naturally Dyed Garments

Natural dyes carry their own charm — no two garments are ever exactly the same. Subtle shade variations are natural, not defects

Care:

  • Preferable to hand wash or gentle machine wash cold

  • Wash inside out

  • Use mild, pH-neutral detergent, do not bleach

  • It’s normal for naturally dyed garments to bleed some color in first few washes

  • Wash separately or with like colors

  • Air dry in the shade only

  • Natural dyes are sensitive to direct sunlight

  • Avoid tumble dry

  • Natural dyes don’t always require washing after every wear

  • Wash less often. Air out in the shade to freshen

Important tip:

  • Avoid direct contact with citric fruits like lemon, oranges, and vinegar that can bleach or damage natural dyes

  • Store away from direct light to prevent fading

  • Iron on low if needed

Let your garment age beautifully!
